Mykonos

Welcome to Mykonos, the most famous and cosmopolitan island of Greece! Mikonos is the island where glamour meets simplicity. Celebrities from all over the world, young people, students, families and couples mingle every year in Mykonos to celebrate the Greek summer.

The "Little Venice", an 18th century enclave characterized by large houses with colorful balconies located on the water, is one of the most charming corners of the island.

It is also worth visiting the church of Panagia Paraportiani, the Town Hall and the castle that rises above the port, as well as the Archaeological, Folklore and Maritime museums to learn about the history of Mykonos.

Delos, the sacred island

Delos declared by UNESCO World Heritage Site. Delos is the sacred island of the ancient Greeks where according to mythology Apollo and Artemis were born. Delos was for centuries the most important commercial center of the Mediterranean until it was abandoned in the sixth century. It is an open-air museum where you can visit the Temple of Apollo, the Monument of the Bulls, the Lions of Delos, the Agora and the Museum of Delos.

Join us for one of our full day excursions to the island of Delos.

The cosmopolitan island

Chora, the colorful and crowded capital of Mykonos, is one of the best examples of Cycladic architecture and a fascinating attraction for visitors. A walk through its narrow streets, houses with colorful doors surrounded by purple bougainvillea impress the visitor. Matogianni pedestrian street, the most glamorous of all, full of brand-name shops, charming cafes and elegant restaurants. Walking along the promenade you can see the fishing boats reflecting in the blue waters and the Kazarma building, which served as accommodation for the soldiers of Manto Mavrogenous, a heroine of the Greek revolution against the Turks.

Along the south coast of Mykonos are its most cosmopolitan, sun-bathed beaches, the most famous are Paradise and Super Paradise, full of people day and night. Ornos, Platis Gialos and Psarou are more family-friendly beaches and for those looking for quiet beaches to relax, Agia Ana, Houlakia, Kapari and Agios Stefanos on the northern coast of Mykonos are ideal.

While strolling the streets of Mykonos do not be surprised if you meet a pelican! Petros the Pelican is the official mascot of Mykonos. It was found by a fisherman in 1954 and became a companion of the inhabitants of Mykonos. When he died, the pain for his loss was so deep that a replacement was soon found. In honor of Petros, the inhabitants of Mykonos have established a long tradition of pelicans wandering the promenade as an essential part of everyday life.
