For many centuries, the sanctuary of Delphi, located in a spectacular landscape, served as the cultural and religious center of the Hellenic world, as well as a symbol of unity.
Meteora, which means "rocks suspended in the air" and is a set of 800 sandstone cliffs formed under the sea 30 million years ago, has been designated as a unique cultural heritage phenomenon by UNESCO. These fascinating historical formations were discovered as they sank below sea level.

DAY 1
Athens – Delphi (Archaeological Site and Museum) – Kalambaka
We start our tour early in the morning at the designated pick-up location: your hotel, the airport or the port of Athens. Our destination is the Fokida region, about two hours from Athens. The Sanctuary of Delphi, located at the foot of Mount Parnassus, housed the most famous oracle in ancient Greece. Delphi was considered the center of the world. According to mythology, this is where the two eagles of Zeus sent from the ends of the universe met to find the navel of the world.
In Delphi, we will visit the Temple of the Oracle, pass by where there were several small buildings called treasures, visit the theater, the Castalia fountain, the ancient stadium where the Panhellenic games were held, the Temple of Apollo and the Delphi Museum.
Finished the visit to the archaeological site of Delphi we will have time for lunch in the town of Delphi and we will continue our trip towards the North and the city of Kalambaka.
We will have lunch before leaving for Kalambaka.
Accommodation: Kalambaka

DAY 2
Meteora – Thermopylae – Athens
Breakfast at the hotel (or in Kalambaka) before heading to Meteora, one of the most special places in the world, where spirituality and natural grandeur combine to give visitors an unforgettable experience.
On these rocks, there are built the Meteora Monasteries, a very important place for the Orthodox Church.
After Mount Athos, Meteora is the second and largest group of monasteries. The first hermits settled in the area in the 11th century, and since then they have been building the 30 monasteries that exist in Meteora. Most of the monasteries are now abandoned. Only six of them remain open and continue to reflect the religious traditions and deep piety of the past.
