DAY 1

Athens - Nafplio

Arrival in Athens and vehicle rental pickup at the airport. The trip to Nafplion commences! Arrival and accommodation at the designated hotel. We propose making a quick stop at the Corinth Canal along the route.

DAY 2

Nafplio - Olympia

Breakfast and a free day to explore the Argolis region. We recommend paying a visit to the Ancient Theater of Epidaurus, which is famous for its excellent acoustics, Mycenae, where you will see the Mycenaean Acropolis, the Lion Gate, and the Tomb of Agamemnon.

DAY 3

Olympia - Galaxidi or Itea

Breakfast and free day to explore the birthplace of the Olympic Games, where you can see the Boulefterion, the Palestra, the Gymnasium, the baths, the stadium, and the Olympic Games archaeological museum. In the afternoon, we will depart for Galaxidi, passing through the world’s largest suspension bridge. A few kilometers from the bridge, we recommend a short stop to visit the old port of Lepanto and the statue of Miguel de Cervantes, which reminds us of the battle of Lepanto, in which the Ottoman Empire fought against the Holy League.

Unlike other similar itineraries that visit Delphi with a rental car, we recommend spending the night in Galaxidi or Itea, especially if traveling in spring or summer.

Galaxidi is a charming town known for its small fishing port, yacht club, neoclassical architecture, and small restaurants by the sea where you can sample traditional fish and seafood dishes.

Itea is a few kilometers from Delphi; on the afternoon of your arrival, you can relax on the beach and dine at one of the seaside taverns.

DAY 4

Delphi - Meteora

Breakfast and departure for a visit to the Delphi archaeological site. The Delphi oracle was a sacred place of consultation with the gods.

You will visit the Oracle Temple in Delphi. You will pass by several small buildings known as treasures in the past.

You will also visit the theater, the Castalia fountain, the ancient stadium where the Panhellenic games were held, the Apollo temple, and the Archaeological Museum of Delphi.

DAY 5

Meteora - Athens

Breakfast, followed by a visit to the Meteora monasteries. Meteora is one of the most unique places on the planet. Meteora means «rocks in the air,» and it is a set of sandstone cliffs formed 30 million years ago under the sea.

As the sea level dropped, these fascinating formations sculpted throughout history were revealed. These rocks are used to construct monasteries. Six of them are currently open to the public.

Following the visit, return to Athens, where you will drop off your rental car.
