Itinerary
Corinth Canal
We left Athens in the morning, heading south. After about 80 km we make a first brief stop, at the "Canal de Corinto". A very important canal, because it links the Aegean Sea with the Ionian Sea and helps ships avoid a 400km loop around the Peloponnese. This masterful work, made in 1893, impresses with its 80 meters high, 6.3 km long and only 21 m wide and 8 m deep. With a bit of luck they will be able to see one of the 11,000 ships that cross it every year. We continue on our way crossing the vineyards of the Nemea area, famous for its wines and even more so for its raisins. Soon the landscape changes and citrus trees begin to cover the entire field until they reach Mycenae. The land where all the Hellenes met, under the orders of Agamemnon, brother of Menelaus.

Acropolis of Mycenae
We entered the "Acropolis of Mycenae" surrounded by Cyclopean Walls and a few steps away the "Gate of the Lions" welcomes visitors, reminding them of the courage and strength of that town.
Thesaurus of Atreus
Before finishing we will pass next to the Acropolis to visit the "Treasury of Atreus" or "Tomb of Agamemnon". The tomb with the largest “tholos” in all of Greece. Entering the tomb, note the monolith at the entrance. It is the largest, which has been used in construction throughout Greece. Lunch in Mycenae.
