For eight days, we will walk in Saint Paul’s steps through Greece, learning about the various locations where the Apostle preached.
We will travel to Athens to see the site where Saint Paul preached as well as the wonders of the «Golden Age.» We will travel to Corinth, where the apostle conducted intensive missionary work for 18 months. We will go to the ancient city where Saint Paul worked as well as the agora where he was tried. We’ll also see the Peirene Fountain, the Apollo Temple, and the museum, as well as Mycenae, which is famous for its Lion Gate and Agamemnon’s Tomb.
We will also visit the archaeological site of Delphi, which has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as well as the Oracle of Delphi, which marked the center of the world. We will then proceed to the Orthodox monastery of Ossios Loukas, which was built in the 11th century and is famous for its mosaics on a golden background.
Our trip will continue to Meteora’s majestic monasteries before continuing to Vergina and Thessaloniki to see the church of Santa Sofia and the church of Saint Demetrius.
We’ll travel on to Kavala, where Saint Paul, Timothy, and Silas landed on the Thracian coast. Finally, we will go to Philippi, where Saint Paul lived, preached, and was imprisoned, as well as the Baptistery of Lydia, where the first baptism in European lands took place.
