inhabited from ancient times to the present day, is situated on the ruins of the ancient Syphins, on a steep cliff with a fine view of the sea. Kastro is a beautiful open-air museum and one of the most charming settlements on the island, distinguished by its historic buildings with wooden balconies, ancient columns, and tiny courtyards.<\/p><p>The visitor approaches the settlement through the \"lozies\" or entrances of the old castle. Previously, these inputs were used as battle towers to protect the community. The lower class lived in the front houses, which were erected next to each other, while the wealthy class lived in the inner, more protected area. The modest and attractive church of \u201cEftamartyros\u201d (Church of the Seven Martyrs) stands out, perched on a rock that seems to emerge from the sea. It is worth taking the time to visit the archaeological museum.<\/p><p class=\"translation-block\"><strong>The beaches of Sifnos<\/strong> are sandy, sun-drenched beaches, whether metropolitan or more secluded. Kamares, near the port, Platis Gialos, the most cosmopolitan and lively, Ithaca, a sandy beach with taverns serving fresh seafood, Chrisopigi, perfect for diving, and other lesser-known destinations
